CRG Beats Fort Wayne, Gem City

The Cincinnati Rollergirls swept their second double-header of the season on April 9, defeating both the Gem City Rollergirls of Dayton and the Fort Wayne Derby Girls before a roaring crowd of 2,728 fans.

In the 40-minute opening game, the Cincinnati Rollergirls’ JV squad, the Silent Lambs, beat the Gem City Rollergirls 91-70, after tying the score early in the game and leading by just 6 points at halftime. According to preliminary stats, Nastee (pictured) was the high-scoring jammer for the Lambs with 51 points, Hop Devil scored 35 and Polly Rocket added 5. Racey Rocker racked up 34 of Gem City’s points, Supersonic scored 18, Rage-L chipped in 14 and Dizzy Queen put up 4.

In main event, Cincinnati’s Black Sheep maintained a solid lead for the entire 60-minute game to fight off Fort Wayne 187-105. K. Lethal—who broke a skate truck and lost a wheel in the second half and laced up a teammate’s skate to finish the game with a mismatched set—led the Sheep jammers with 88 points; Hannah Ouchocinco helped out with 52 points; and Wheezy scored 47. Majestic managed more than half of Fort Wayne’s points, 58; Pushy Cat put up 23; R.I.P. Tide scored 16; and Enya Grave added 8.
