Before we tell you about the awesome matchup for our 2024 home season opener, we are pleased to announce that CRG has again won CityBeat’s Best of Cincinnati Readers Poll for “Best Team (Amateur/Semi-Pro/Minor).” Thank you to all the fans who voted for us — we will fight hard to do you proud this season.

It’s not only our 2024 season opener — it’s Pride Night! Join us for the competition, stay for the fun at the Cincinnati Rollergirls’ first home game of the season on Saturday, April 13 at Queen City Sportsplex. As you probably know from previous seasons, we do Pride proud. We encourage everyone to arrive dressed in whatever makes you happy.

Come and cheer CRG’s Black Sheep, our A team, as we take the track with a single-header against Vette City Roller Derby Vixens of Bowling Green, KY. We are both pleased and sad to announce that we are already sold out and encourage our fans to stay in touch to get tickets to the next three home games, for which ticket availability will be announced soon.

This will be a WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association)-sanctioned game between CRG, currently ranked 63rd in the North America Northeast region and Vette City, currently ranked 37th. The Black Sheep defeated the Vixens in their last matchup in September 2022, but this game looks to be more of a challenge.

Asked what they were looking forward to most, Ursa Maimer, one of CRG’s coaches along with Krystonite, said, “We are a young team this year, and I am so proud of our newer skaters. They have already come so far, and I can’t wait to see them come into their own on Saturday.”

Newer faces on the CRG roster include Chile Con Carnage, Pain Austen and Bug Smasher, who previously played with Cincinnati Junior Roller Derby.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the action starts at 6 p.m. at Queen City Sportsplex (formerly Sports Plus) at 10765 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45241. Seating is extremely limited at Queen City Sportsplex, so fans are encouraged to arrive early to get a good seat. Fans can also bring their own folding or camping chairs. Trackside seating is also available for spectators 18 and over. Fans seated trackside are welcome to bring a small pillow or cushion for comfort.

Tickets for CRG’s May, June and July games will go on sale a few weeks before each date, and opponents and more details will be announced soon. Follow CRG on Instagram and Facebook and sign up for our email list to be one of the first to know when tickets go on sale.
