For the second year in a row, the Cincinnati Rollergirls have been voted the city’s best amateur/semi-pro team in Cincinnati CityBeat’s annual Best of Cincinnati readers’ poll!
CRG came in first in CityBeat’s 2012 readers’ poll, beating out the Florence Freedom and the Dynamic Wrestling Alliance.
The team also was voted the city’s best amateur/semi-pro team in 2011 over the Florence Freedom and the Dayton Dragons.
The Cincinnati Junior Rollergirls, CRG’s new junior team for girls ages 8-17, also was recognized by CityBeat staff in this year’s Best of Cincinnati issue in the category “Best Alternative to Little League.”
They say: “The baddest women in Cincinnati are now taking apprentices, as the Cincinnati Roller Girls created a Junior Rollergirls program for girls 8 to 17 years old. Tattoos aren’t required, but a punny nickname is. The Junior Rollergirls program is led by retired Cincinnati Rollergirl Kathy Kissing (aka Panterrorize) and involves working on skill requirements as outlines by the Junior Roller Derby Association as well as teaching teamwork and leadership.”
The Cincinnati Rollergirls would like to thank their fans for their support since the team’s first season in 2006.
