The Cincinnati Rollergirls’ first competition of the 2014 season gives the league’s B team, the Violent Lambs, a chance to shine. The squad will travel to Bloomington, IN on Feb. 8 and 9 for the Bleeding Heartland Roller Girls’ Annual B-Cup Tournament .

The two-day tournament features seven other teams, four of which the Lambs faced in 2013 with mixed results. At home at the Cincinnati Gardens, the Lambs beat both Bleeding Heartland’s Code Blue Assassins and Tri-City Roller Girls’ Plan B. But the Lambs fell to the Naptown Roller Girls’ Warning Belles early in the 2013 season, and to Nashville’s Music City Brawl Stars in the Lambs’ last game of 2013.
This weekend’s roster features a wide-ranging mix of veterans, newcomers and transfers. Seasoned skaters and original Cincinnati Rollergirls Cherry Choke, MIRDERHER and Susie Shinsplintski will anchor a solid team of returning skaters and a few relatively new faces, including transfers Mama Crass and Sprint Julep and 2013 Rookie of the Year runner-up Tru D. Vicious (left).
The Lambs play the Mad Rollin’ Dolls B Team in the first game of the tournament, which may include some familiar faces. Last season, the Lambs narrowly defeated Madison’s Team Unicorn, a squad that features a mix of charter and non-charter players, while this weekend’s squad should be a true B team.
