The Cincinnati Rollergirls’ 2012 season begins on Saturday, Feb. 18 when the team travels to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on the Grand Raggidy Roller Girls for the first time in nearly two years.

Cincinnati’s Black Sheep are entering the 2012 season ranked 8th in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s North Central Region; Grand Raggidy holds the No. 11 spot.
But while Cincinnati finished last season with a 5-12 record, Grand Rapids finished 9-4 and is fresh off of a six-game winning streak, having defeated Brewcity, NEO, Hammer City, Toronto, Queen City (Buffalo) and Demolition City over the past five months. That could mean that fans will see a closer, more exciting game than they have in previous meetings between the two teams, all of which Cincinnati has won handily.
Both teams have seen some departures from their rosters, but both are also entering this game with strong corps of veterans. Cincinnati’s includes Buckhead Betty, Hannah Barbaric, June With a Cleaver, Jungle Lacy, K. Lethal, Karma Krash, Nuk’em and Sk8r-Kinney; Grand Raggidy will field a roster that features standouts Lindsay Blowhan, Lucy Morals and Mira MaHeiny.
Cincinnati and Grand Raggidy’s B-teams, the Violent Lambs and G-Rap Attack, will also face off in the opening game of the night. The Lambs easily defeated Grand Raggidy’s relatively inexperienced B-team squad two years ago, but they may face more of a challenge this time around. The Lambs roster is made up of experienced B-teamers plus two skaters making their Lambs debuts: Imma Tattooher, who joined CRG in 2011, and Sauci, who formerly skated with the Ohio Roller Girls.
