The Cincinnati Rollergirls strike back with the return of Star Wars Night. Join CRG’s Black Sheep as they take the track with a single-header against Terrorz Roller Derby of Columbus, Indiana on Saturday, May 13. Coming off a fiercely fought win against the Ohio Roller Derby Gang Green on April 29, CRG is ready for light-saber-quick action in their third home game of the season.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the action starts at 6 p.m. at Sports Plus (10765 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241). Seating is up close, but extremely limited–buying in advance is your best bet. Additionally, if you would like to use one of the chairs at the venue we advise you to arrive when doors open. Trackside seating is available for spectators 18 and over. Fans seated trackside are welcome to bring a small pillow or cushion for comfort. All other fans are also welcome to or to bring their own folding/camp chairs!
STAR WARS NIGHT with COSTUME CONTEST
Come dressed and ready for action! CRG’s first Star Wars Night since 2019 will feature:
- Halftime will feature a Star Wars costume contest with chances to win free CRG swag
- Free inflatable light sabers at the door for kids (while supplies last)
- Appearance by official Star Wars fan group, the Ohio Garrison of the 501st Legion
This battle will feature CRG’s A team, the Black Sheep, taking on Terrorz Roller Derby, at 6 p.m., in a single-header event guaranteed to be fast-paced, hard-hitting, and competitive. CRG is currently ranked 28th out of 123 teams in WFTDA’s North America East region.
Krystonite, winner of last game’s MVP best blocker award, will come ready to play. It’s Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, but CRG skater Krystonite celebrates all year long. Her signature crocodile teeth are fierce, gorgeous, and a great story. Drawing from her Filipino heritage, Krystonite modeled the teeth after traditional warrior tattoos. The crocodile represents ancestral spirits and was used to strike fear in enemies’ hearts. CRG also welcomes two new skaters, Avalanche who is rostered for her first game and Pain Austin, who is filling the alternate role.
