Say hi to our Skater of the Week, Foxy Bloxy #137 🦊It’s her first season with CRG, but Foxy already feels woven into the fabric of the team. She’s smart, solid and pushes her teammates to level up. As a part of our Training Committee, she shares her years of derby wisdom with generosity and grit. We’re lucky to have her on wheels and in our corner!

How long have you been playing roller derby?
“Since 2013, but I’ve had years off here and there.”

What do you do for your day job?
“Math Teacher.”

What is your volunteer role within the team?
“Risk Management & Training Committee.”

What kind of skates do you roll on? 
“Riedell Solaris Boots, Powerdyne Arius Plates, Radar Halo Wheels.”

What’s your favorite position to play?
“Blocker.”

What is one of your derby strengths?
“Communication!”

What made you want to play roller derby?
“I went to undergrad in Austin, Texas and after going to a TXRD game I knew I wanted in!”

If you had to pick a highlight from your derby career so far, what would it be?
“It’s a tie between winning our first tournament we ever attended with the Orlando Ozone Slayers (Low Down Throwdown in 2018) or winning home team champs with Bellingham’s Team F.L.A.S.H. in 2023. Both teams worked so hard to get where they were and it felt amazing to be a part of them.”

What do you do for fun off the track?
“Take my dog places, tell my cat she’s beautiful, and watch a lot of horror films.”

What would you say to someone who has thought about playing roller derby?
“I’ve met friends who are now my family across the nation and learned how to be stronger than I ever thought I could be from them. Bet on yourself and do it.”
