Join us for the competition, stay for the fun at the Cincinnati Rollergirls’s last home game of the season. It’s Fan Appreciation night–and we truly appreciate our fans, who picked us once again for 2023 CityBeat’s “Best Team (Amateur/Semi-Pro/Minor)” for 2023. So much so, in fact, that we will fight The Universe–a mashup team with players from around the region–for our fans.

Come and cheer CRG’s Black Sheep, our A team, as we take the track with a single-header against The Universe Roller Derby (TURD), on Saturday, June 10. Coming off two wins in a row, the team is determined to finish its season strong. 

Miss Print, aka Lauren Bishop, the owner of the team, reflected on the season: “It’s been so exciting to watch our newer skaters take the track alongside our veteran skaters and improve their skills over the course of just a few months. Don’t miss your last chance to see them in action this season!”

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the action starts at 6 p.m. at Sports Plus (10765 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241). Seating is up close, but extremely limited–buying in advance is your best bet. 

FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT with GIVEAWAYS

Come ready to be appreciated! CRG’s first Fan Appreciation Night since 2019 will feature:

  • Giveaways at the door
  • A halftime performance by musician and multimedia artist Annie D, who writes and performs songs that fuse the idioms of 60s pop, horror cinema, and op-ed columns into a funny and singular entertainment. Annie has performed internationally, was showcased twice at Austin’s SXSW, and has earned praise from Billboard Magazine.

THE TEAMS

This battle will feature CRG’s A team, the Black Sheep, taking on The Universe, a mashup team of CRG skaters and a veteran skater, at 6 p.m., in a single-header event guaranteed to be fast-paced, hard-hitting, and competitive. CRG is currently ranked 26th out of 111 teams in WFTDA’s North America East region.

THE SKATERS

The winners of the last game’s MVP awards, Gore-gon (best jammer) and Krystonite (best blocker) will come ready to play. And look for Raezor–the mom in the dynamic CRG mother-daughter derby duo Raezor and ROOthless, that we recently featured here. Just to keep even our most ferocious fans guessing–Raezor will play this game on the side of the Universe. Roo is temporarily sidelined due to injury. Taking the track for the first time with CRG are Chile con Carnage and transfer skater Terahrizn, while DJ Smearo, another recent CRG transfer skater, will take the track with The Universe.
