The Cincinnati Bengals weren’t the only Cincinnati sports team that got social media attention during Super Bowl LVI. Mailchimp, the email marketing platform, featured the Cincinnati Rollergirls in a social media ad campaign designed to spotlight some of its small business customers that can’t afford to buy a Super Bowl TV spot.
Using the hashtag #BigGameSmallAds, the campaign included a tweet about CRG that read: “All hail these queens. The legendary Cincinnati Rollergirls do their best footwork on wheels. The internationally-ranked @cincyrollergirl team jams on a flat track and improves their marketing moves with Mailchimp.” The tweet included a photo of skater Crystal Whip by CRG photographer Jeff Sevier.

“Why should the big name, big game advertisers have all the fun? We think small businesses deserve just as much attention, which was really the genesis and main motivator for this campaign,” said Michelle Taite, CMO of Mailchimp, told Adweek in an article about the campaign.
CRG is also featured on Mailchimp’s website as part of its #BigGameSmallAds “roster.”
