This one’s for you – our fans! We promise you we will put our tattoos to the test and our bodies on the line. We will play our hearts out. This is our last home game of the 2024 season, and we are going to go out fiercely. We want to thank you for your support this season. You are amazing and we appreciate you!
THE TEAMS
This battle will feature CRG’s A team, the Black Sheep, taking on Kalamazoo Roller Derby’s Killa Crew at 6 p.m. in a competitive, hard-hitting single-header event. With many CRG players coming directly off playing a lot of derby at RollerCon in Las Vegas, the track will be extra hot and the action extra fast.
FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT
Just for you: there will be lots of giveaways at the door: exclusive CRG fans to keep our fans cool, and sheep ears for the kids. Halftime will feature a stroller race, with merchandise vouchers for the winner. We have some extra special, #Fiona-approved giveaways and prizes as well.
MEET A SKATER WHO WANTED TO PLAY EVER SINCE SHE WAS A KID
We wanted to highlight one of our newer skaters: meet Robin Jewels (#16). She remembers being eight or nine years old and going with her parents to her first CRG game when we still played at Cincinnati Gardens. “I fell in love instantly and thought ‘These people are the coolest I’ve ever seen,’” she said. Asked what this first season on the team meant to her, Jewels said, “Being a part of CRG has meant more than I can describe. It’s most certainly a full-circle moment from when I was a child, so so surreal, sometimes I still have to pinch myself! Skating has brought me community, friendship, joy, I could go on! But derby had truly truly brought me a joy I have never experienced before in my life. I’m getting teary-eyed thinking about the sport, my teammates, and all the ways it forces you to push yourself and grow.”
We asked her, finally, what she hoped for this final game of the season. Jewels said: “I hope that as a team we have fun, most importantly. I also hope we have the confidence in ourselves to execute the things we have been working so hard on in practice. Things I was scared to try in the beginning of the season, I do with such ease and confidence now. And honestly, I am hoping to jam at least once as well!”

Seating is extremely limited at Queen City Sportsplex, so be sure to buy tickets in advance and arrive early to get a good seat. You may also bring your own folding or camping chair or seat cushions if you decide to sit trackside (Trackside seating is for fans 18 and over only).
