Come to the track side! Get in on the action with your Cincinnati Rollergirls in celebration of all things Star Wars as they take on Roller Derby of Central Kentucky (ROCK) this Saturday, May 11 for our second game of the season. Fire up the hyperdrive and get your tickets now before they sell out.

Halftime will feature a Star Wars costume contest. Dress up as your favorite Star Wars character and enter the contest to win merchandise vouchers and the applause of an enthusiastic crowd of skaters and fans.

This game will take place at Queen City Sportsplex (formerly Sports Plus) at 10765 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45241. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the action starts at 6 p.m.

The team is absolutely ready for intergalactic action. Asked about the bout, Krystonite, one of the two coaches, said, “When it comes to winning, our attitude is Do or do not — there is no try. We will show you how strong the force is with us.”

Asked about skaters to watch out for, Krystonite said, “Watch out for our jammers — they can make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.” (The Kessel Run was one of the most heavily used smuggling routes in the Galactic Empire.)

This game will also feature the debut of two skaters new to CRG, Ginger Snaps and Junie B. Bones. ROCK includes two former CRG skaters, Nuk’em and Chad, so may the force be with all of us, and make for a higher level of play.

Seating is extremely limited at Queen City Sportsplex, where CRG sold out every game in 2023, as well as our first game of 2024. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets as soon as possible, and arrive early to get a good seat. Fans can also bring their own folding or camping chairs. Trackside seating is also available for spectators 18 and over. Fans seated trackside are welcome to bring a small pillow or cushion for comfort.

Tickets for CRG’s June and July games will go on sale a few weeks before each date, and more details will be announced soon. Follow CRG on Instagram and Facebook and sign up for our email list to be one of the first to know when tickets go on sale.

And in case you missed it: CRG won “Best Team (Amateur/Semi-Pro/Minor)” in Citybeat’s 2024 Best of Cincinnati Readers’ Poll. Thank you for voting for us!
