It’s impossible not to recognize the impact of Krystonite #10, our Skater of the Week, on the track. Not only can she hit hard (we’ve got the bruises to prove it!), she’s agile, smart and relentless in stopping a jammer. She brings a sense of ease and fun to the game that reminds us why we love derby in the first place. We’re so very lucky to have her as a mentor on the training committee, where she’s raising the bar for everyone.

“I’ve been playing for 8 years.”

What do you do for your day job?
“I work in HR and I work as a florist at Kroger.”

What is your volunteer role within the team?
“This year I am part of the training committee.”

What kind of skates do you roll on?
“I have Antik AR2 boots with Pilot falcon plates.”

“One of my derby strengths is my versatility and my ability to adapt to different situations.”

What made you want to play roller derby?
“I met some skaters at Cincinnati Comic Con and they told me about the team and I was intrigued. About a year later, my bestie asked me if I was going to try it and, at the time, I said maybe. She eventually convinced me to go and try it out and that began my journey. I haven’t looked back since.”

If you had to pick a highlight from your derby career so far, what would it be?
“I think my highlight would be working hard on the track and progressing into higher level derby. I’ve been privileged to join Team Philippines and share the track with skaters who share the same culture as me. I’ve been able to play many tournaments with them, with Y’all Stars 2025 being the most recent one.”

“I enjoy playing Animal Crossing, tending to my numerous plants and living life like a Disney princess, caring for my animals.”

What would you say to someone who has thought about playing roller derby?
“Come on down and try it out. You never know what you are capable of until you try. Plus, you get to experience and be a part of a vibrant skating community.”
